Lladró - the Valencian icon
Valencia’s world-famous porcelain manufactory, Lladró, is celebrating its 70th anniversary. The luxury ceramic and porcelain objects began to be produced in 1953, in the workshop founded by the Lladró brothers, and burned in kilns following Moorish traditions. The 70s brought an explosive expansion, and from the beginning of the 2000s, world-famous designers and studios began to be invited to design one of their collections, such as the Spanish icon Jaime Hayón, Marcel Wanders, Luca Nichetto. In the museum, you can see countless objects, from classic pieces to the modern Star Wars collection, from serially numbered collector’s porcelain figurines to impressively large chandeliers. The recipe for the porcelain mass is, of course, a secret, and the apprenticeship period for each work session in the painting workshop is 3 years.
