We started the design process of this 86 sqm groundfloor apartment when the building existed only on the architect’s drawings so we had a full chance to create the space meets our client’s needs. During the design process we redesigned the floorplan, opening the kitchen area, bringing it together with the living room. This all became a beautiful, light-filled daytime zone for the family as it has a direct entrance to the garden.
We wanted to create an elegant, high-quality, simplistic but warm and friendly style. Our client fell in love with a beautiful rosewood dining and side table, also with the black chairs so when we designed the kitchen, we suggested to keep the furniture in white to let the dining area to stand out. Together with the carpenter we found a veneer that looks really similar to the rosewood to matcj the upper cabinet with the table.
To design the living area we took the Chagall poster as an inspiration in colours and considered that our client is very tall, so need high-support sofa and armchairs. We added the pink to the pale colours to bright it up and selected the bohemian lamps to make the whole interior a bit more easy-going.
We wanted to keep the elegance in the bathroom as well so have chosen wall tiles with marble effect. The classical, golden framed mirror and the persian carpet is making the whole interior more frienly and giving a certain character to it.
The apartment was featured in a spring edition of a Hungarian home design magazine.
